We stayed at Bonnet Creek during the Christmas Holidays back in 2004
when there was only 2 buildings. Third building was under construction.
After 4 years, I am sure that alot has changed!

We are planning a January trip to Bonnet Creek Resort
staying in a 2 Bedroom & have the following questions

    Q:

Did the resort build a new & larger check-in area
or is the lobby area still in its orginal location
When will they take down their Holiday Decorations

Do they offer an Owners Lounge where we can invite
friends & family members over to spend an afternoon

Has the resort updated the first two buildings yet

Do the new units have leather sofas & chairs

Do the units have deep plush mattresses
    down/feather pillows & down comforters
Or Firm Mattresses with Plain Bedspreads

Which building & floor should we ask for
if we want a view of pool and fireworks

Do RCI exchangers get placed in certain buildings
like at Wyndham Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach SC

If anyone would like to stop by during our stay
Please feel free to call me, send an email or pm

signs, a Christmas Tree in each building lobby and a

I can not help you with Bonnet Creek but have a question about your question.

Are the units bad at Wyndham Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach?

I know they are across the street from the beach. Anything else one should consider about Wyndham Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach? I just booked a unit for spring break via RCI. I am also holding Sheraton Broadway Plantation. I can deal with a mile from the beach when the beach is too cold for a swim any way.

              Thanks for your help

When I was there last 2007), there was an ethernet connection on the phone in the kitchen. Worked very well for me. No wireless at that time.

Bonnet Creek - Lazy River - Pools - Hot Tubss

                    January 10th, 2009 - Saturday Morning

Sunny and fairly warm with Temps in 60`s

This morning we got up early and went to
the hot tubs near the lake and main pool

The first hot tub felt like a warm bath
It was just the two of us for awhile followed by a
family of three. It was very comfortable. Then we
went around to the lake side hot tub which was hot
Here you could see the beautiful lake and fountain

Afterwards, a dip in the huge pool
The pool was cooler, not heated but very nice

There were plenty of chaises, table and chairs
Great location to meet up with friends & family

Also, when you look up at the main building you can
see sales people up on the fourth floor of the main
building showing off the resort amenities

                      Marti,
To you get the early in and late use at Disney like the DVC members do when staying on property?

Bonnet Creek is NOT Disney-owned like DVC, so you will not get the "Extra Magic Hours".

Thanks, I was not sure. I had been "told" that it was inside Disney by a Wyndman "salesperson" so I was just checking to see if you also received the Disney property hours too.

The location is excellent. It feels like it is, because to get to it you have to drive under a "Welcome to WDW" sign---when we take the Old Key West bus, we often drive past Bonnet Creek to get where we are going.

Technically, it is not on Disney-controlled land (the Reedy Creek Improvement District). It is landlocked on three sides by Disney, and the fourth is I-4. The story I've heard: Back when Disney's shadow companies were busy buying up land, the owner of that particular parcel got wise early, and asked for a high price. Disney balked, and the owner swore he'd never sell to Disney at any price. The land passed hands a few times and ended up with Fairfield (now Wyndham) who developed it.

The only resorts that are full participants in "onsite" benefits are named "Disney's <whatever>." Some other resorts participate to a greater or lesser degree, including the Swan and Dolphin (both Starwood properties), Shades of Green (a Department of Defense resort), and the Downtown Disney Hitlon (which pays for access to EMH).
