This is a very naive response. Who do you think is the BIGGEST "megarenter?" WYNDHAM EXTRA HOLIDAYS! Do you realize they rent out prime weeks ALL the time? Do you realize that it's YOUR/OUR inventory that they're renting out, making 100% profit? Do you realize Extra Holidays has Christmas weeks at resorts where you can't even check availability yet? Whom do you think all of these changes help??? WYNDHAM AND EXTRA HOLIDAYS. NONE of the changes help the "average owner." Even if you own 100,000 points and vacation 2 days a year, this affects YOU. The changes have made the Wyndham system very inflexible and have devalued ALL of our timeshares. Don't believe me? Check out how cheaply the Wyndham points are selling for on eBay right now.

I am not a big fan of the megarenters but this post is correct. Wyndham isn't really doing this to protect us owners in any way. They are the one beneficiery of their actions. This is not a big revalation but it seems to me that most of their actions follow this model. "Say they are doing it for the owners benefit, but make changes that really benefit them". Let's face it most times their changes are taking something away from us, the owners, not adding to our benefits. Just once I would like to get notified of a change that was made for my benefit and be able to look at it and say "yes, that does help me out, I like it" But I won't hold my breath for that!!!!

I am an indirect beneficiery of this new rule. I am a floating week owner of a resort which cinverted to Wyndham points. i did not convert. But Wyndham thru mega and kilo renters thru points are siphoning the best floating units.

I don't think you will see those best floating units no matter what happens here, sorry.

However, with economic situation went bad recently, most hotels do see their occupancy rate drop even lower than 911 standard. So you should benefits from that and see more floating week appear on your side if they never get converted into Wyndham's point system.

We went to our Owners Update yesterday and the 'wonderful' sales woman informed us that this rental/exchange of points between owners benefit was never taken away......she argued 'she would know' since she has worked there for 12 years or whatever.........since she wanted to argue about it and sell me the VIP package I told here to reference the numerous web sites dedicated to the subject and that our little meeting was over.

Thought I would share the good news........LOL.

I need to rent my point because I became unemployed and can't use them at this time. I've had several timeshare businesses contact me to rent my credits and they want up to $1,000 in advance to do this but I would make $5,000. Are these legitimate offers? I've had offers from the Worldmark forum to rent them but the offers were VERY low. Since it seems we can't rent to them now anyway, should I use one of the businesses who contacted me? Does anyone know which of these businesses are best. Thanks!

No. Those $1,000 in front you can get $5,000 means you can list there for $5,000 with none take it. If you have world mark forum, the offer probably is legit from that forum. If you have Wyndham, it can not be rent as point, you have to make reservation to rent it.

If I can rent Worldmark credits, what is the going rate. I can't seem to get an answer to this question and I have a couple of people interested in renting them and need to make a decision. Also what is the rate for housecleaning tokens? Can anyone help? Thanks!

It is whatever you like and they can take, check this forums, you may get some idea

I will say as long as it covers your cost, plus some, than it will be reasonable for you, but sometime, there could have people in desperate mood and willing to take less.
