  • Another Wyndham rebranding in the works?

There seem to be numerous new job postings looking for sales agents for Wyndham's Presidential Reserve program.

Do you think this might finally become a reality?

Basically- the program would create a new type of ownership level at a select number of resorts such as Bonnet Creek, Grand Desert, etc. that would have a new set of rules and privileges, including developer right of first refusal.

Maybe it's just me but this sounds suspiciously like the current million pt plus privileges with the ROFR process thrown in... By constantly reducing current Fairshare privileges- could they simply be setting up another ownership upgrade opportunity?

Remember, most of the corporate CFO's have admitted that new sales have dropped dramatically, so resorts need to focus on monetizing their current owner base. Another reinvention of the wheel could accomplish this, and I'm willing to bet many current members would shell out the cash!

That's been the assumption about this all along.

One has to have cash in order to shell it out....in today's economy that seems less and less likely....why don't corporate people focus on value and service instead of this c**p!

If we were owners and invited for this special privilege of upgrade ... we would tell them to stick it...
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

I think it is reality. Several long time Yahoo Group member has upgrade to president already. That is, until they announce the new change and kind of make the newly upgrade feel very sour in their stomach.

They tried valiantly to sell me this last summer in DC.

While staying at Wyndham Sedona in Summer of 2007, Wyndham told me they were going to release this in early 2008. Maybe it will come true now. I am sure it is intended to create yet a new product while leaving owners in the older program in the dust.

You would think that having a need to 'monetize their current owner base' they would not do so much to alienate owners. However, after the changes made to our ownership during the past few years, I simply cannot imagine ANYONE with a sound mind willing to purchase ANYTHING further from this greedy, self-serving, corporate gangster.

              Just my thoughts,

                Wyndham - Video

Thank you for sharing the video. Just bought some Wyndham Fairfield points through e-bay about 5 months ago and I feel for those who bought and upgraded to a high level.

My old boss who has owned timeshare for years always told me that he did not like points because the owners could not vote. Now I have to agree, although I like owning some points for short travel stays in different destinations.

Thought about buying more points but now, I think I will keep the 254,000 points I have and if I buy, I will buy more weeks.

One way to get out of the guest certificate is to deposit your shares into RCI, if you have as much as 254,000 points, get two red time studio units and the one studio will trade for a 2 bedrooms, 2 bath unit just about anywhere. The bonus is you will get 2 weeks in lieu of one week for your expensive FF points. Not sure as last Nov. RCi did not charge me for a guest certificate when I sent a friend to a resort on one of my weeks but I know they do not charge much if at all for guest certificates through RCI.
