Learning more about our Wyndham membership but still some questions...

Our family recently purchased about 475,000 Wyndham annual points on the resale market split between Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach and Sapphire in western NC. We have started making some bookings and are learning a lot about booking fees and housekeeping points. Both are surprises to us! It seems to me that especially the housekeeping points needs to become a component of our points usage strategy.

Here is my question; I saw some mention of Gold or Platinum membership on the Wyndham website but there is no definition of what this means. Are these clasifications linked to the points you hold? Is it a total of all points or only points at one resort? What qualities a member as a gold or platinum member? I saw a note that booking fees do not apply to members who achieve this rating. Is the same true for housekeeping points? Any explanation offered by more experienced members would be greatly appreciated!

Their definition is, if you have 300,000 + points bought directly from Wyndham, or inheirt from your direct relative (parent, Brother, children), than you are in VIP club, which allow you to have unlimied housekeep credit.

If you have 500,000+ points from developer, than you are in glod VIP club, which add unlimited transactions.

All these benefits are subject to change

Since you purchased your points resale instead of buying directly from Wyndham, your points would not qualify you for VIP Gold or Platinum membership.

The reservation transactions are reset now for calendar 2009. You should receive one for each 77K owned. 6 in your case, if the prior owner of the points made reservations in 2008 then there would have been less available for your use.

People may run into housekeeping credit issues when booking multiple short stays, like long weekends. Doesn't seem to be an issue for most, but may for you.

2 million resale points

I have been a Fairfield/Wyndham owner for about 10 years. I just bought a ton of points through ebay, and now my ownership amounts to over 2 million points. Does anyone have any idea how I can make these points pay for my maintenance fees?
