Wyndham generic RCI deposits will be searchable/reservable online in March

It looks like a cut and paste from the RCI account from the supplemental weeks section.

Since we all have to share the available visible deposits it was encouraged that we each only obtain one, stock up with Generics, use the visible for searching and putting on hold and switch the reservation using a generic.

The visibles requested would be more than I have obtained during my entire Wyndham ownership and it is not necessary to do it that way and disadvantage other owners.

Hopefully Generics will be searchable shortly and such considerations will be unnecessary.

I submitted requests for visible deposits: two 70k and eight 28k.
Wyndham deposited all generic Studio weeks:

Might as well have asked for all 28k deposits and gotten 5 Quiet instead of the 2 High, for that same 140k points.

Your example above is exactly why I got to know that person... When I place a request, I get a visible deposit as soon as it's available... Checking the box on the Wyndham site or a phone call, is a roll of the dice.

Sometimes if you call and ask for a supervisor they can do something for you.
They gave me generic ones once when I had asked for visible and when I called they were able to connect with RCI and change them. I wouldn't think that this always works tho. It seems to me that this is a little early in the year to be running out of visibles tho, unless, like I said earlier they are planning to do away with the visibles.

Search First

do you think we will still be able to do a "search first" so we can deposit the lowest value number of points to get the trade we need?

How can you do a search first? Even on my regular non Wyndham weeks, unless I have a deposit, I cannot search and see the resorts available.

You can call the Wyndham line, and ask to do one. They will make a "temporary" transfer to RCI and the RCI VC will check inventory. If you confirm or hold a unit, your transfer becomes permanent (even if you cancel the confirm hold by the next day). If you do not confirm or hold a unit, and wish to "undo" the transfer you must call Wyndham back and tell them so---your points will be reinstated to your account.

You cannot do an ongoing search without permanently depositing your points.
