    I am an owner of both Wyndham & Worldmark.

    I have used all my Worldmark points for this year but I want to go to the Worldmark - Estes Park, CO in August. When I use the "Worldmark" online reservation system I can get either a 2 bedroom or a studio, but I don't have the points.

    When I use the "Wyndham" online reservation system for the same time it says there are no units available.

    Can someone explain to me why I cannot use my Wyndham points if there are units available?

    Does Worldmark only let a certain # of units go to the Wyndham owners? Do they not open them up until a certain # of months before the date?

    Yes, there is a direct exchange relationship between WorldMark and Wyndham. At those resorts where they share inventory, it is usually only one or two units that each system gets. It is NOT a system where they both share all available inventory.

      Thanks for the response.

      I had a feeling it was something like that.

      I guess it is almost impossible to actually book the cross inventory, but it makes it look good to any potential buyers that they have so many locations "available" (???)

        Bingo. It's more a sales tool than anything else, but it does serve a good purpose for resorts with more supply of units than they can fill.

        It's much easier to simply get a direct exchange with another owner than it is to get it through Wyndham or WorldMark.
