I purchased 2 deeds on the resale market which have already been recorded and I would like to know typically how long it takes for Wyndham to process the ownership change?
About a month in my case. Then I had to call them to get a new RCI account set up and that took a couple more weeks. The old account number was tied to the prior owner so they had to sort that out.
perhaps this is a thread which could help with II connection to a resort
I was wondering if someone could explain how a II resort works with Wyndam, in particular how the II account set up for the resort you own works?
In talking to owner relations, they seem to imply that the number they set you up with, is good only for accessing a glorified resort directory from which you pick a resort and then have to call a number to see if there is any availability. No chance to view availability or make reservations directly.
Any enlightment people could offer would be appreciated..
in our case it took two months to finally be registered as owners with Wyndham.
and now two months to get II recognition ( they first sent us out RCI forms but the resort we purchased was an II resort ). We have a current II account but not sure if they take that over or not.

Yes, it took an additional 2 months for me to get my Wyndham II account. It is separate from your regular II account and ONLY has the Wyndham/Fairshare Plus weeks in it.

At the bottom of this page is the area where u do the actual deposit....
You first pick the "Use Year End Date"
and click on the size unit/point amount you want to deposit.
If u want to do 3 28K studios deposits, you MUST do it 3 times....
Wait 3-4 days then Call II - tell them u want to put in a search with your deposited units and pay the exchange fee of $149 - (you do this because you otherwise u can not 'see' the deposited weeks) - you then request an exchange 2 years out - like Four Seasons - of course u will not get it but now it will show in your account as a pending request and you can search with it - if u see something you want you can confirm it.
You can also put in an actual ongoing search that u have a chance of matching......just do it with this deposited week to avoid having to use LOTS of points.
If the II rep says they can not 'see' your deposited units, call Wyndham vacation planning/reservation - explain the problem and they will do a 3 way phone call with you and them and II to confirm what u have on deposit.
Probably will not use Wyndham for exchanges through II ...seeing as how complicated it is.... along with the fact that they just do a generic deposit which probably would not have much "trading" power in II...at least it is an option
but we did have some points from last year that had to be rescued into II once we have an account ( use year ended mar 31 but they are soooooooo slow that that has now passed )
wonder if it is worth it to put the new resale we just obtained into RCI rather than add it into the current II account ( probably not a good move since those points would not be available to augment the current points we own with Wyndham )
just some musings for sure, we want to use the Wyndham points to experience some of those presidential offerings....smilawgs
You do not have the option to go with RCI once your first ownership is an II affiliated resort - all subsequent ownerships will be treated the same as the first.
That is why my first ownership WAS an II resort.
Wyndham trades extremely well in II especially if done the way I stated - by having 'visible' deposits'.
