  • Questions on Points Needed

I've been researching Wyndham and Worldmark points. Where with Worldmark it takes about 8,000 points for a week in So Cal, the Wyndham sale listings talk about 100,000 points, more or less. How many points does it take for an average week in the US?

What is the unit size and where do you plan to be there? Look like you are looking at 1BD.

For older resorts between 84k and 105k should be good enough for 1BD at prime time.

For newer resort it goes to 126k to 200k 1BD.

Here is a comparison between Wyndham points and WorldMark credits at the same resorts in Prime/Red season:

      South Shore (Tahoe)
      1 Bedroom WM 8000 - Wyndham 238000
      2 Bedroom WM 10000 - Wyndham 324000

      Indio
      2 Bedroom WM 11,000 - Wyndham 293000

      Steamboat Springs
      1 Bedroom WM 11000 - Wyndham 189000
      2 Bedroom WM 14000 - Wyndham 231000

Certainly, by now you realize that every system has a different point allocation, like comparing the $ to the Yen.
