    Marge,

I see you live in Central Florida.

You are so lucky. You are closer to my mouse home than me.

We're right on the Atlantic (2 houses away), so the mouse house is about a 1.5 hour drive. Love those resident seasonal passes! Average a 2 day visit every month, usually stay at Bonnet Creek.

How does Bonnet Creek compare to DVC? Have you stayed at both? Just curious because I bought my Wyndham to use at BC.

Have never stayed at DVC, only Disney Hotels
I have a friend that insists on staying at the Polynesian ($400 night).
I don't understand it, but she foots the bill, so...

We have always had good experiences at BC. Now that there is more frequent transportation to the parks, it is even better. We like keeping our German Shepherd at EPCOT, very close by.

Two years ago during May we were at BC for a week with family. We had kenneled Ruby Tuesday at a place about 15 miles from our home. The wildfires that were going on, intensified greatly and changed direction VERY fast. The kennel called us late one night to see if we could get her out of there. Other facilities were taking some of the small pets, but placing the larger ones was a problem. By the time my husband got near there, all roads in were closed by firemen, police and actual fire. Thankfully the wind shifted again, but the fire was within 1/4 mile of kennel. He couldn't get to her until the next morning. Needless to say, we keep her closer to us whenever possible!!

My dog Sheki died a few years ago but I used to take her to Disney with me and kennel her during the day at Disney and she hated it. We always stayed in a nearby motel that allowed pets because Disney doesn't allow pets yet.

            Hopefully that will change soon.

I know how difficult it is to leave them behind. Since my precious Sheki died, now I've got 3 cats that are easier to leave alone. I miss them much when I travel but they don't do well with changes of environment like the dogs do so they stay home. Lucky for me I've got a nice sister in law who likes cats and helps me out.
