  • Wyndham trade with II?

I was looking through the Wyndham site and trying to learn more about it. I see that you can get exchanges with RCI and II. Is that for me who has points or is that for the owners who have specific weeks at specific resorts?

Each WYN resort is affiliated with II or RCI. Most with RCI. In your WYN account you can have either, but not both (actually there are ways around this, using more than one account, but I an not the one to ask). It depends on where your first owned week trades. I believe both points and fixed weeks.

I sent an e-mail to the salesman who we bought our timeshare with at Wyndham and asked him if I can switch from RCI to II. He has been helpful to me in answering questions and helping me get reservations. Hopefully he will be able to do this for me.

I really like the Marriott places espcially the Paris resort and I would love to own one, but if I have II I can get the place I want through my existing timeshare and trade through II. I would be really pleased.

Although you can exchange into the Marriott in France, it will most likely be very difficult, unless you would be willing to visit during the cold months...Marriott has a 24 day preference period where only other Marriotts are able to make an exchange through II. Any Marriott deposits that are platinum season, especially in Europe, usually do not make it out of the preference period. The exception would be during flexchange ....59 days prior to check-in. If you can travel last minute, you have a better chance of getting what you want.

        Good luck!!!

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

In order to trade your WYN points thru II - your first resort purchased MUST be an II affiliated Wyndham Resort....there could be more then I know, but they are currently Royal Vista, Governors Green, and Star Island. El Cid is also with II but is traded in a different way and for simplicity sake, I would avoid it.

If you are already a Wyn points owner and are affiliated with RCI - u can not change.
In the past, Wyndham allowed owners to freely transfer points between accounts - so u could have a 'friend' or family member have a Wyndham II account and if u wanted to trade your points thru II - you could transfer the points to that account.

As of March, all point transfers have stopped and Wyndham has increased other fees as well.

Wyndham does see some nice things in II - I do see Marriotts but mostly off season - which is also fine with me.

As Angela stated, this would be difficult with Wyndham Points - they do not have the quality level necessary to consistently see Marriott resorts.
              Sorry.

                Oh Well

It is what it is! I love my Wyndham ts even though I have RCI!

I'll just watch and wait for a Marriott!

I just have a feeling it is going to be a while before I can actually purchase it

Since you used the term 'salesman' I am assuming u purchase retail from Wyndham.
Marriotts resales are VERY attractively priced right now, you might be surprised at what can be purchased now.
                  Start looking around.
