  • Please help me rescind

How do I rescind? We signed a contract with Wyndham last Sunday (7/6/09) and wish to cancel if it is possible. Do they stick firmly with the 5 day cancellation policy? Please let us know how to get out so we can buy resale instead.

    Thanks

    Yes they do!

You must get this in the mail and postmarked today!

Just type a very simple letter stating that after thinking it over you do not whis to pursue the purchase.

Return everything certified return receipt US Post to the address specified.

    HURRY!

Lawren is giving you the truth. Don't wait around and consider it: Get it returned TODAY. Then, spend the time finding out what would work well for you and how to "buy right." Buying from the developer is always an option; you will have lost absolutely nothing by returning it if you later decide "in the cold light of day and with reason" that is the course of action you wish to pursue. If, on the other hand, you dilly-dally around to consider if you should actually return the stuff, you will have lost the opportunity, and the debt will be absolutely be yours.

You can find a post office that's open late by going to the usps.gov site. It's worth a long drive to get today's postmark.

Wait--last Sunday wasn't July 6, it was July 5th, wasn't it? When did you sign?

Yes, sorry Sunday was the 5th not the 6th. I have contacted the customer service dept. and sent them a fax of the letter I will send on monday via cert. mail. Hopefully this works. The customer sevice rep. put a note on our account of "sales mis rep."

I hope this works for you. Wyndham can be evil incarnate. Please let us know how you make out.

                Hi,
Just wanted you to know I sent you a PM about a Wyndham I just purchased from an ebay seller. I'd rescind like recommended by others. I give you more details in the PM. Good luck to you.

A fax doesn't count. You should be making every possible effort to get that letter mailed via certified post as they state you must do. If you miss by hours you are going to be stuck with a great system - WYndham Points - that you paid 90%+ too much for! NOT a good way to start out in timesharing.

You can go on usps.com and print out a label and mail it priority with tracking and it will be postmarked today. Plus you will have online tracking and proof that you sent it. Good luck.

Today is Saturday, if you sign on Sunday, I believe 5 days is Friday. But you should still try the best to get a postmark.

I had to cancel one for someone in my family who went on a presentation and then rescinded and we sent an email with return receipt but in the title I put "interested in buying timeshare" instead of rescinding and they opened it and I got the proof by email and then followed it by return receipt requested with tracking. In Florida we have 10 days to rescind. I know every state is different but are you sure it's only 5 days?
