Wyndham Waikiki points question

Hello, I'm considering purchasing at Wyndham Waikiki bu am a bit confused. We rented from an owner a 2br deluxe lower level in July for a week. According to the points chart, it should cost 350k points. But on our confirmation letter, it only cost the owner 175k points. Why is this? Does the resort cost less points (It looks like a 50% discount here) as arrival date is within 60 days or something? (I remember the owner telling us to wait to within 2 months to get a better deal). Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

For a 50% point discount at 60 days, the person you rented from was a VIP Platinum member. That means they own at least 1 million points.

and purchased those points from the developer. They paid big bucks to do so.
