  • Was Alexandria ever sold as weeks?

I have a client who insists that this location was originally sold as weeks for a very short time.. I believe he's confused, because I have only seen UDI point contracts there..

However, I seem to learn something new every single day in this industry, so I could easily be the one who is wrong... Has anyone ever seen either a week or a converted points contract deeded at Old Town Alexandria?

I know Kingsgate did. But I don't believe DC has. Does your client has a deed?

No.. He's looking to add to his portfolio and simply prefers weeks to points. He currently owns a fixed week at Santa Barbara, and wanted his agent to locate a fixed week at Alexandria.. Our system showed this as a points only resort, so they transferred him to me..

I also told him that it was only points, and recommended another resort choice.

He is absolutely convinced- and ended up so frustrated with me for not believing him that he simply hung up... I'm going to call him back, and just wanted to make sure I'm not mistaken.. I'll call one of my contacts at Wyndham as well- but most of the long time employees I used to deal with are gone and I'm just not confident in the answers I get with the new hires!

I believe this was a 'purpose built' resort by Wyndham. It was not a TS resort that Wyndham took it over and converted to Wyndham Points.
Another example would be Bonnet Creek - Wyndham built it from the ground up - always a point resort.

Check with Spence; he would know if it was something before Wyndham.

The maintenance fee calculator available for Wyndham owners at the forums @

only shows it as a points resort. MF history goes back some time, guessing to the early 90's without going and looking myself.

I've never seen a fixed week reference to it either, so suspect he is confused as to resorts.

I went to a presentation there back in 2000 when I worked a mile or so away, it was pretty new and selling points. I've never seen it referred to otherwise.

I just saw 895Kpoints at National Harbor sell for $6500.00, unbelievable. Who would have paid top dollar for that that recently and already dumped such a big single contract to a PCC?

Did you see this one? Can you imagine what the original owner paid?

Thanks for the responses.. He's still unconvinced, but will have to come around eventually! Wyndham also confirmed that this location has only been sold as UDI points.
