  • II Valued Member AC ????

Alot of people on TUG are reporting they received an AC in their account stating thanks for being a valued member. Must use before January. Not sure of the grid.

Anyone here get one? I didn't. Not sure what else I need to do to become a "valued member"

In the last 12 months alone:
    8 Getaways purchased
    3 Exchanges completed
    3 units deposited
    2 ACs used

You certainly seem valuable to me!

    Will check my two accounts.

I cancelled my membership about 5 years ago and that seems to have qualified me to get one.

I received three of these. One expires January 23, 2011. The other two expire August 13, 2011.

Hmmmm, I haven't received one, and I've had/have lots of deposits in II. Been with them for the past 8 years, or so.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I received one AC this morning and three emails telling me I received it.

For a minute I thought I was getting multiple ACs, but checking my account, alas there is only one Oh well, I guess I'll just have to be thankful for the one. ...and I didn't even have to join MVCD.

Seriously....I'm miffed enough to call them and ask why I am not valued?

I understand it is probably a marketing/computer generated thing they are doing - but heck....call it something different then!

Someone had posted OY that they thought is was in reaction to Marriott's new DC and Marriott owners being switched to Marriott's corporate account. I recall that in previous discussions, there was talk about Interval giving owners who joined AC's to compensate them for their paid personal accounts with Interval. Sort of a way to encourage them to keep their personal accounts open (to use the AC's) rather than close them after Marriott transfered their Marriott units to the corporate account.

So far I have not received a valued customer AC but, I also haven't joined Marriott's DC program yet. I don't intend on joining until we're at Ocean Pointe in November. My personal Interval account runs through 2012 and, I have only one timeshare left that isn't enrolled in a personal account. It will be something of a debate as the worthwhile nature of keeping that one timeshare and having to pay the I.I. membership fee vs giving that timeshare away and saving both the MF's and the membership fee's each year. The thing is, that silly little timeshare trades so darn well I almost hate to get rid of it even if it does cost me an extra $89 plus $139 in exchange fee's to "upgrade" my unit each year.

I just checked my I.I. account and there is now an AC with an expiration date of Jan 23, 2011 sitting there. It must not be attached to joining the DC club with Marriott since we haven't joined as of yet. It's unfortunate in that we've already made all the plans we're going to make for 2010 and most of 2011.

Maybe someone from work will be able to make good use for it. I have a co-worker who's looking for a vacation but, she's looking for Feb. 2011. This ones expireration date might be to soon and, she's looking at a nice rental on Key Largo that we found through Interval's Getaways and then found that the resort will rent the same size unit and guarentee the view for about the same price.

Perhaps those of us who aren't considered "Valued Members" should give II a salute with the finger that is considered a symbolic representation of our "valued members"?

By the same token, I did give a not-so-glowing review of the last resort we exchanged for including the fact there was mold growing on the ceiling of the master bathroom and area's where the resort has attempted to paint over it. I was offered an AC but had turned it down for a couple of reasons. One was that we still enjoyed our vacation and I considered it only a minor inconvenience but one Interval should be aware of and two, we wouldn't use it anyway (I wasn't thinking about the possiblity my co-workers or family might be able to use it). The AC in my account could be reflective of that bad review and Interval's desire to attempt to compensate for the exchange. I did not see a notation about it being placed there for being a valued customer.

There also could be a hierchy in what order they're distrubted. IOW, there are enough members that they all could not be issued at once. Or, it could be a mistake. I took advantage of an Interval AC mistake a couple of years ago when AC's were mistakenly placed in all DRI accounts. It was fortunate timing for me as we were actively searching for an exchange and, the AC was able to pull one of the resorts we had been considering. I jumped on it immeadiately and the exchange held. Interval discovered their mistake a couple of days later and removed the AC's that hadn't already been used from all the accounts.

I just took a good look at that AC. Trust me, you're probably not missing much. It's pretty limited in what it will pull IMHO.
