Cancel a Guest Certificate - Funds Refunded?

I have a family trip planned for arrival this Friday.
One of the groups isn't going to be able to check into their unit until Sunday. (friday check-in)

They asked that I check them in on Friday so we can put their groceries and such in the room for them.

Problem - the Guest Cert is in their name - not mine.
I can cancel the guest cert and put back in my name - wondering if II refunds the $49 fee???

Also I assume resort has all info from II - would I just be screwing things up to change names now? Better to leave alone?

I made an exchange in August for my son. I purchased the guest certificate in his name for his October trip. Two weeks before his departure, he found out that he had to work that week. I decided to use the week myself.

I contacted II to notify them of the change. They sent a new confirmation certificate to me with the name change. I did not receive a refund from II.

When I got to the resort, they still had my son listed as the guest. I had my confirmation certificate with me, so there was no problem checking in. It just took a few more minutes to register. Next time I will buy the guest certificate closer to the travel date.

Since you won't get a refund, I'd just leave the reservation as is.

I don't think they will refund the fee for guest certificate. They did let me make changes without changing me another fee. That is why I usually delay the purchase of guest certificate as much as I can. It does not take too much time to get the guest name to the resort.
