Rich do you have a link for this? I wonder how this will affect the TPI personnel. They are headquartered in Laguna Niguel, CA.

etimesharenews.com: Trading Places International Purchased by Interval Leisure Group

I think it came from an AP release- but there isn't any real detail to the story yet. I doubt that they will close down the California office, since TPI is so tied to both Mexico and Hawaii.. However, I would expect some changes..

This is probably good news for DAE and for SFX!

Wonder what that will do with VRI using TPI system for exchanges?

It is bad news, however, for competition in the exchange business.

i wonder if that means that II will take in all the resorts affiliated with TPI as II affiliates. At least one on the OBX that is formally affiliated with TPI is not affiliated with II.

On a similar thread OY a rep for TPI stated that they were not purchased by Interval International, but by the company that owns II.... Then went on to state that they will be run as two distinct companies with no expected changes...

Not sure I'm buying that... But I think that will be the company line..

I just saw that comment as well. I read that as corporate mumbo jumbo. That was a rather brief and terse statement. Check back in 2 years and let's see how this changes.

It might have also been a bargain basement purchase for II as well. Too good to pass up.

TPI has said the same thing here in the Ask Trading Places Forum. I have no doubt that that is the current intention. But it is reasonable to expect some changes and integration over time. Things that may have not yet been decided. Others necessary to coordinate corporate policy, human resources, etc... Time will tell.

I seriously doubt that with a company that claims to be the 3rd largest when it comes to successful exchanges. As a privately owned company we will never know but I expect Mr Jackson did quite well.
