  • Transferring a deposit to a new owner

If I sell a timeshare and an II deposit is part of the deal, how much do they charge to transfer it to the new owner. The II web site is terrible as far as finding information like this and I did not see it in the Terms and Conditions. Is there a form I need to do this?

Unlike RCI - II very easily transfers the week - there is no fee but there is a form.
It can only be done when an ownership is sold.

Call and tell them the circumstances, they will forward the form.

Had very difficult time with II

        Good luck!!!!!

I had nothing but runarounds from II for over 3 months trying to transfer two deposited weeks from a previous owner when I purchased their Aruba week #10 timeshare. I finally got someone from a special account executive department who told me he would deposit the 2009 and 2010 weeks into my account last month. When I went to my account I saw that instead of depositing the two specific weeks, one of which I wanted to use as an internal trade back to the same resort for 2012 they gave me two AC's and one was going to expire this month. After I complained and he told me they would have the same trading power, as they were unrestricted AC's and were tied into the original weeks.

I then complained that I had to use another one of my weeks for a January trade for my daughter and that week was good until December 2011 and I would have used the 2009 Aruba week first. He put me on hold then came back and said the best they could do is extend the expiring AC for six months with no charge because of all the delays in processing my request which I had faxed over 3 times over a 3 month period.

At first I was satisfied but have noticed lately that the AC's do not have the same trading power as my other Aruba weeks at the same resort and am at wits end on how to proceed or just hope for the best as I have two on going requests for these two weeks.

In all of my dealings with II before I finally got someone to do anything I found their customer service to be terrible, by shifting me from one person to the next and when I requested to speak to a supervisor on several occasions I was told they would not speak to me since this was not something that a supervisor would handle.

One guide actually told me this was not possible and I needed to ask the previous owner to search for me and when they confirmed an exchange for me to get a guest certificate and pay for it in order to get my exchange. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and after putting me on hold he just transferred me to another guide who asked me all of the same questions and told me all I needed to do was get a signed letter from the previous owner and fax it to them. This was the letter that I faxed over 3 times until I finally received the two AC's. I was never informed of any II form to transfer the deposited weeks.
