  • Best Orlando Week for Exchanging?

    I've hit 100 posts! Whoowheeee!

    Okay, now to the point...

Would July 4, Easter week, or Xmas or New Years be best for exchanging with an Orlando timeshare in II?
    Thanks!

Easter weeks varies from year to year. IMO the 2 best weeks would be July 4 and Christmas week

Thanks for the quick response. My 100 posts pale in comparison to your nearly 5000!!! Are you going to do a lottery for what day/hour/minute you will hit 5000?

      Back to the point (again...)

I noticed in the II guide that weeks 11 and 13 seem to have the highest "Travel Demand Index" for Orlando at 110, with July 4 and week 52 just slightly behind at 105, but tying with weeks 6-10 and 12. I guess a lot of schools were out weeks 11 and 13 the year II ran the "Travel Demand Index" study.

I'm not sure about trading power. But, I know that week 52 is the busiest time of year in Orlando. I believe week 51 and Easter week is right behind that.

I own in Orlando - Marriott Grande Vista - so was able to do 'trade tests' with different weeks - the week after Easter (starting Holy Saturday) and Presidents Week are both GREAT...I never had the patience to wait until week 51/52 to reserve - also depending onwhat DAY Christmas is can greatly effect the desireability of that week.

I do remember one time when I tried exchanging in that it was hard to find anything in March in the 90 day window. I'm not sure if there is a direct correlation between trading power and the travel demand index- it would be nice to have a VC here that could answer the question.

Edye if II's Travel Demand Index is anything like RCI Points index for exchange the numbers mean absolutely NOTHING. ( Take it from one who experimented for 4 years finding the right week to deposit)

I'd listen to the advice given here. Week 52, then Easter week or Presidents week.

If Passover and Easter fall close together I'd take the week that would "cover" both. Next year that would be the week begining on or about 3/30 (week 13?) as a lot of elementary thru high school kids in the northeast will be off then.

                  26-30

51 and/or 52, depending on the calendar at the resort.

Congrats on hitting 100 now 1000 is next. I did not think I post that much. I thought I was at 3 or 4 thousand. I have to think about what to do when I hit 5000.

I for got about Presidents week. I still feel Xmas week and july 4th are best.

I will be going to Orlando week 13, 2007. Sounds like it will be unusually packed.
Anyway, I wanted to mention that last year II gave ACs for Marriott Cypress Harbour deposits from mid Feb-Easter week. I don't think they were offered in the summer or New Year's. That probably reflects highest demand more accurately than the II charts.
