  • Don't forget about 2 for 1 ~ xyz exchanges

This has been mentioned before, but worth mentioning again.

In some cases II will let you make a 2nd exchange off of 1 deposit. Supply can be limited - but worth a call. It is my understanding this available thru February 2012 right now.

    I just did one.
My 1 BR in New Smyrna beach ended up getting me a 2BR at Marriott Harbor Lake in Orlando (october) and a 2BR at Inn Seasons South Mountain (december).

Great deal for only a secondary exchange fee of $169!

Wow, I didn't realize it worked like that. I thought you could get a one bedroom, and then maybe a studio for the same place/dates to go with it.

    What a deal!

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Is 2 for 1 ~ xyz offered at the deposit time or the exchange time?
Does one need book the 2 weeks (2 for 1 ~ xyz) during the same transaction?
          Can they be booked online?

          Thanks!

You don't need to book both at the same time.
I booked my Oct trip in June - did that one online the "normal" way.
I just booked the Dec trip (2 for 1) last week - have to call II for that.

Is 2 for 1 still working as of now?

Also, could anybody share the Interval World promo code for renewal membership? (1 or 2 yr)

              Thanks a lot!!

Yes it is. I THINK it is running into either Feb or March right now.

                Sorry....no code.

Sorry, I forget the details on XYZ - is there a grid that restricts what areas and time periods it can be used?

yes there is. Mostly for over inventory and only for a few months out. But, always worth a call to II to ask if you can do a 2 for 1 on a current exchange vs using a week. The worse they can say is no.

we got caught in an "audit" then, since they called to say a second week we obtained did not qualify since the original deposit already had an xyz exchange against it....they took it away

the agent seemed to be able to book it when we had called but several days later someone called and said the booking was a mistake

thus, everyone's mileage on this second xyz on one exchange transaction "might" vary

That would make sense if you already had an xyz exhange against that week. It is 2 for 1. Assume you got caught with a 3 for 1??

                            Help ?

So can someone tell me how you can get these extra vacations at different places and times ? When I spoke to customer service today, two different reps kind of told me the same thing that it would be an extra week at the same place, before, at, or after my booking. So if I was going to Orlando March 1, they could give me a week before, after or just a second unit for the second exchange fee. I asked them about a different destination / time and they said not you can't do that. Is there a specific agent that knows what he is talking about ????

                            Thanks

do not really understand what happened

that might be it, but they did not mention when we xyz's that we were not eligible ( and there is no place to check to see which week has had xyz )

our call was just checking to see if they had xyz and she said they did ( however, thinking about it now, the week she saw and booked for us was outside the regular "index" time for xyz weeks )....not sure what was happening there???

we are glad the audit caught us, because we like to play by the "rules"

all we did was ask if there were any 2 for 1 exchanges available, at no time during the call were we told " we were not eligible" due to a exchange week having been used more than once, I thought they have this all flagged within their system....it does not hurt to call ....all they can say is no

by the way, II was very acommodating to us for their mistake...smilawgs
