We are owners of a week in Orlando with KGI and recently recieved a phone call and then a personal visit from a gentleman who claimed that Interval was converting to a point system and that we would need $19000 to upgrade to the new program. Another offer was presented to take back our week and join a travel co-op called KGI Destinations. This would cost us $3900. Both deals had to be done immediately or they would be removed. Additionally, if we did not make the deal, we were told that the cost would go up and we would be forced to upgrade eventually. We never make snap decisions and of course declined. Besides something did not ring true. Has anyone had a similar experience or could verify this?

Is Interval going to a points based trade?

II introduced a points based system early this year. They haven't puhed it as much as RCI Points has but since they have created it I assume the push to convert will come soon.
I've seen the details and it's actually quite good but of course they are in it to make money - it is not free. You'll have to decide for yourself if it is worth the extra puchase cost & fees.
