  • AC Values - restricted

Ok - so we all know we are stuck to the grid. But, I have seen the "trade power" of the AC diminish this year.

Example: I have an AC that I received as a deposit for a week. When searching for Orlando for a month on the grid I noticed:

    1. I could not see Marriott one bedrooms - only studios (1BR were available, could see with a regular deposit)
    2. I called II and was told the grid would drop during flex time. It did....but...
    3. The trade power is still not there. Even during flex it won't pull any Marriot over a studio.

There was a time when the ACs for deposits would pull ANYTHING that the original week did. Sad to see this go......you would think that would drop during Flex.

IMHO, AC's have been all but worthless for the last few years. They are no longer an incentive to deposit a week. We gave a less than stellar report of a resort we had exchanged into last year and Interval offered us an AC as compensation. I thanked them but told them no thanks.

I have still gotten some great places for my acs both flex time and ahead of time, . I can see some Marriott Ford Manors in April right now , both one bedrooms and a two bedroom in March. And I just returned from a studio stay at Lakeshore reserve in Orlando. also on an AC . I think it depends on your flexibilty , but there are still some great values in the shoulder periods. If you cant use them you might consider gifting them .
