  • Question re "size upgrade" XYZ

I know that if I deposit a two bedroom, I can get two exchanges if I pay an extra exchange fee into a one bedroom and a studio - so effectively I'm getting two bedrooms for two bedrooms, both sides of a lock out. At least that's my understanding.

Does the same thing apply where, for example, each side of a lockout is a one bedroom? I'm looking at the Westin Mission Hills. If I've deposited a two bedroom Foxrun unit, can I use the size upgrade XYZ to get a one bedroom full kitchen and one bedroom limited kitchen if I pay the extra fee?

Thanks in advance. I've followed this forum with interest and echo the other sentiments that it's been helpful. I too wish you success with your future endeavours.

Xyz type 2 which you describe is based on occupancy. If the 2 units you book match your unit then it's all good.

Xyz type 1 is a grid and let's you book anything that matches. I will post a new thread soon on the xyz grid and how to use it.
I am happy to try and provide help and advice on II and can offer personal assistance by PM if needed.

That is very helpful. I think then my Foxrun sleep 6 would allow me to match to a studio - sleep 2 plus a one bedroom - sleep 4. But would not allow me to match to a one bedroom "small" - sleep 4 plus a one bedroom "large" sleep 4. At least that's how I understand your response.

      Thanks again very much.

I used a Foxrun to book a two bedroom at WMH, one fee. Much easier.

Oh, for sure, that's of course the best way to go. I have one two bedroom confirmed with one of my FR weeks. Was trying to bookend another two bedroom for the week before or after and wondering if my suggestion was as possibility.

Not preferred but at least I would have what I want locked in.

I believe Occupancy XYZ is based on "private sleeping" capacity, not total occupancy per unit.

            For example a 3 6 8 (6 private) can be traded for a
            2 4 6 (4 private) and a
            1 2 4 (2 private)

XYZ Type 2 is based on total occupancy, the problem is that not everyone is trained or briefed on it properly.

Thanks for letting us know. I had been told differently.
