  • Unit not available with AC during Flex???

I have been watching for a week in Williamsburg for the end of June with an AC that is soon to expire.

I found the Colonies at Williamsburg available with a deposited week - but it wasn't available with the AC.

Since it is 7am and II not open yet. I grabbed it with my deposit and plan to make the call to II at 9am to have them switch it to my AC.

My question.....I though all was available during Flex even with an AC? Is there a chance this is not true? If so, I assume since I will be within the 24 hour mark I can cancel the exchange with the deposited week and keep looking for something with the AC. Correct?

I've noticed that the AC's seem to be sticking to grid these days, even during flexchange....It can be hit & miss tho, so you can get lucky!.....Not sure of the rhyme or reason.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

This is no longer true as demonstrated by you today and others in the recent past.
I tried for a Hawaii week less then 2 weeks from checkin in November for a friend and we could not get it.
It is a constance source of discussion on the Marriott Board of another site I visit.

The worth of the AC is much less then it has been in the past
Let us now how u make out with II today.

If you make a bit of a fuss they might be able to match it, it's hardly like they're desperate for williamsburg space!
I am happy to try and provide help and advice on II and can offer personal assistance by PM if needed.

Yes, I have seen the same issue. ACs are what they used to be!

I checked with an AC I have from a 1 BR deposit and can see a 1BR with checkin 6/29 in that area. My strong deposited weeks see the same. So, this AC which I received last fall, still pulls outside the grid in flextime. I don't have any newer ACs to play with to see if they are different.

For your particular AC, is Williamsburg on the grid?

I agree.....I have certainly seen the ACs provided to be less and less valueable. Unit size is where I have seen it the most.

I thought that all dropped during Flex. I could see 2BR units in Williamsburg for that week for other Gold Resorts.....but for some reason, this particular resort is not pulling. Could be that it is new????

My first call to II didn't help. The rep only told me the only way to find out is to cancel my exchange with the deposited week and then she could determine if the AC would see it. Well....if I couldn't this morning, doubt she would. Said thank you and left all as is.

Second call into Customer Relations Dept: On hold for quite some time. Person that answered told me Williamsburg June was not on the grid so that is why I couldn't see. I politely mentioned that for the last couple weeks I have been able to see other 2BR williamsburg resorts for same week - so Grid was gone for Flex, just not this one resort. She then started with hello, hello, are you there, hello, hello, thank you calling II good bye. As if she couldn't hear me.

Third call into Customer Relations Dept: Finally someone that got what I was talking about! She said that certain resorts stipulate what type of weeks can be used to exchange into their resort. She said it is not an II restriction....it is a resort restriction. So, in this case The Colonies at Williamsburg has made a stipulation that a person can't use and AC to get an exchange - they require the person use an actual deposit week.

I'm not sure the rhyme or reason why....what would they care? Must be something behind the scenes....who knows. She also mentioned that some resorts will also restrict trade ups. Example: if I have a 1BR and I am searching inventory myself...I will not see 2 BRs on some resorts - because the resort has made the request only equal trades. I have seen this with the ACs....Marriott in particular.....haven't tested with a deposited week though.
