  • Q: Does II get much inventory from DRI in Europe?

I know our answer guy has said that II does not get enough inventory in Europe generally to fill the number of requests they get, but I am specifically curious about how much they get in the way of deposits from DRI's European collection?

Specifically I am interested in Wychnor Park. Before DRI strongarmed the fixed week owners out in an appalling display of thuggery, they could deposit in RCI and one saw a week or two from time to time there. With them gone, RCI does not get it anymore. It is not even on the resort list of UKRE, and DAE does not seem to be able to get it. All weeks are now in DRI's points club. Does DRI ever deposit this resort in II?

II does get inventory from DRI in Europe. Lots of getaways, but deposits for exchange too.

I've seen this resort in the past for exchange.

At the moment, lots available in getaways......

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Hmmm! I guess the real question here is whether it is II renting exchange inventory instead of offering it for exchange like RCI is so prone to do, or in the alternative, whether they are merely acting as agents for DRI which is doing the renting. DRI has been criticized in Europe for renting out weeks that members cannot reserve with their points. I would tend to suspect that these are DRI rentals, but it could be either.

It was not that long ago that DRI was assuring their members that they were doing all they could to get more UK availibility for members to cover a shortfall in meeting members requests there.

Well, I don't know who's doing the renting, but DRI resorts in Europe always seem to be in abundance in getaways.

They do show up in exchanges, too, but nowhere as frequently as with getaways.

When DRI used hardball tactics to force out the fixed week owners at Wychnor Park, their excuse was that they needed the inventory for their points club members to reserve there.

DRI's official line is that there isn't enough units purchased in Europe or some similar spiel. I never did get told the truth though. Probably renting it to line SJC's pockets.
I am happy to try and provide help and advice on II and can offer personal assistance by PM if needed.
