  • Accommodation Certificate

An accommodation certificate popped up in my account. Is that a random thing or did something specific have to happen to get that?

I looked at what it would get me and the only thing that I'd potentially use is the Marriotts in Palm Desert. However, the cost seems to be the same as if I were booking a getaway.

    Are these certificates ever useful?

Only for off season generally. I think they had a promotion where they gave a AC when you made an exchange- maybe that's where it came from.

      They can be useful Presley.
I've used them for mostly Orlando offerings.
I scored a nice 3 bedroom Grande Vista once with it for $333.
I haven't seen the 3 bedrooms since in the AC's that they are now offering.
Have seen a few 2 bedrooms but haven't booked anything with them.
Cheaper to use my CMV and pay the exchange fee than use an AC.

No, these are more freebies they are giving away as I received on as well and made no deposits. Ironically, they have a promo right now that if I do deposit they will give me another one. What encouragement is there now for me to deposit, if I already have a certificate? Other than the new one might have a longer period of use I do not see any benefit. Haven't looked to see if it was a grid one or not. The last one I received was based on a grid and went unused. They do tend to be off season, or remote locations and can be very restrictive.

Yes, I got one too. I let my II membership lapse a few years back, so II emailed me to tell me that they had given me an AC. But the grid for this AC is really limited--I don't think I'll be able to use it at all. Can I give it away? Would anyone like to have it?

I just got another one yesterday, for no apparent reason and announced by an email. Off season grid for exchanging and expiring in Feb. 2014.

I now have 2 of these that expire on Feb. 10th. I don't think I will be able to use either of them. Are these transferable? Maybe someone here can enjoy them.

Not sure, but I think you can get a gift certificate.
