You say the resort isn't 5-star -- is it nice? Does it have amenities? II cares a lot about quality, but many resorts are of good quality even if not up to the 5-star standard.
Unlike RCI, II almost always offers something nice, somewhere, especially if your resort is considered good quality. In the worst case, you can search during Flexchange (59 days or less out) and there will still be nice weeks available most of the year.
Where is it you want to go?

On another thread, you mention that you don't know whether you made a mistake in your purchase or not. If you bought from the developer, and are still in your recission period, then you should defnitely rescind.

Is your 3 br a lockoff unit? You probably already know this but to stretch your annual maint fee/value you should always split a lockoff. Use part of it and deposit the other. Or deposit all the parts which is like owning more than one week.
Since you get to pick from weeks 10-52 make sure to pick summer season week for depositing purposes. July 4th obviously would have best trade power!
If you have kids in school you're going to be competing for the best exchanges with other families who want to vacation same time as you...so, deposit at least a year in advance and enter an ongoing search as soon as you know what you want to do. Let us know how it goes! And have fun!"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed and those who are cold and are not clothed."
