  • II dumping color designations?

I am in the clubhouse at Ponds at Foxhollow, found this in a leaflet on the desk addressing exchange information for owners:

"...we've just discovered that Interval International will no longer be using color designations to define their weeks. They are changing to a Travel Demand Index..."

Have I missed this posted elsewhere? I will try to ask more about it while I'm here, but there aren't too many people working the holiday...

I do remember seeing this posted OY.

II has had a Travel Demand Index for some time, so it's not a big thing IMHO.

    How's Foxhollow?

    Any snow?

      Avery,

I agree with lawren....not a big deal, I also remember reading about it. I think II sent out a notice, or included it with their new book.

Hows the vacation going? Are you guys having fun?

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

There was a little dusting yesterday, but they have been furiously making snow at Jiminy so there is enough for the kids to have fun, though they are complaining that the big terrain park isn't open and there was only one black run as of yesterday. Foxhollow is a bit of a headscratcher. The units are in dire need of a facelift, but the property itself is gorgeous. This must be an old estate now carved into a few different properties on site. The drive through the gate from the road is beautiful. They had only 2 intervals deposited for all of last summer, so forget about getting a summer exchange. We are just down the road from historic Lenox (great restaurants/shops), but I'm not getting to spend much time there since I'm running to/from the mountain a bit (40 minutes each way).
2 bedrooms rent for $2000/week in summer through the resort.

Back on topic, you are right that II really bases its trade power on the Travel Demand Index anyway, but now they are making it much more transparent. A good thing I think. There is a posted list of Travel Demand by week/unit size at the front desk here; I would think that would be of great value to owners, and will help demystify 'trading power' to a great extent.

I tend to like places like that. No LC's in summer huh?

The TDI is right below the week color designations on the resort page available thru the Link "Travel Planning Tools". Folks don't even have to be a member to see them.

I don't think there's much RCI inventory since II still has this place as a Five Star (not sure why with the condition of the units, but it doesn't bother me); nope I doubt there will be any LCs for the summer but there are plenty of Getaways on II for off and shoulder season.

The travel demand info posted here is different from the ones posted on the II website... they range from 24 (low season 1 bedroom) to 80 (high season 2 bedroom); MFs are assigned accordingly. The sales rep isn't around, so I can't really get more info...

I think that it is a great improvement so sales people cannot sell you a bag of lies. Red is not red as there are many shades but very few will tell you this. I doubt if RCI will ever do this. It would be a shock to many if the truth were known.

This thread is beginning to sound a little like an episode of "The X Files"
