  • New to II

I am new to II. I recently closed on our 2nd TS. You people are a BAD influence as my Mother would say

Anyway-I am in-got my member number and I have been searching. Here are my first questions....
Is the II website "glitchy", sensitive, moody? Is that an understatement? I bought WM so I can search with a float week from a studio to a 3bd-I can see different things with each level but sometimes when I search ALL DESTINATIONS the choices are in light blue as if I have already looked at them and I haven't. The ones I have are also light blue-but I haven't seached like, for example, Croatia and yet there it is light blue-does that happen to everyone? Should I be concerned? It makes me feel like I an not the only one accessing my account.

The other question is when you post sightings- Angela-are you just searching all destinations and posting places of interest, or do you use each resort code, do you have a routine? I am finding that I can seach an area and not come up with anything and then if I seach for a particular resort in that area-I can. Also, since I know you are searching with a Marriott most often-as a Marriott owner-does II let you just search for Marriotts-or is that a choice you are making?

Also, sometimes, when I search, it will come up as "this page can't be displayed" mostly when I search Hawaii-is that a glitch or just no availability? I can't see much if anything for Hawaii-I do see some of the last minute sightings. Should I be seeing something for Hawaii right now if I search a year or so out or does that indicate I don't have the trading power?

I have a lot to learn-but I already like what I see so far. I have now joined 3 exchange companies-my Maui week is affliated with RCI-I haven't decided whether I want to join RCI-and this is probably more appropriate for the RCI thread-but does RCI give high trading power to Hawaii weeks? It's a fixed summer week. 1bd though.

    Thanks everyone for your thoughts.

I agree with you completely.....The people around here are very bad influences, indeed.

I am finding that I can search an area and not come up with anything and then if I search for a particular resort in that area-I can. I search all destinations. I never put in a resort code, it would take too long to do searches that way. I do get a Marriott preference, when using my Marriott, but I do not search specifically for Marriott. Everything that is available to me is shown, and then I decide what to post. Some are better than others.

I'm not sure why you are getting this page. Usually, there are some listings for Hawaii. You wouldn't see Marriott, or Westin, until after their preference period, but you should see some resorts. I'm not familiar with WM, so I don't know what they would normally see. Maybe someone with a WM can chime in, and give you a better answer.

Welcome to the wonderful world of timesharing.
    Angela

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Thanks Angela. I will just keep plugging along. I like most of what I am seeing. I do see Marriotts and DVC and that makes me Next step is an ongoing search-just need to decide where and when. Thanks for all the work you do on the sightings. How lucky we are to have you on TS4M's.

Today I contacted II to add a second Timeshare property to my account. I was told there was a $39 charge or I could purchase a second year membership for $89 and they would add on the property. I balked at the charge and the rep, later stated that they would waive the fee to resolve the issue. Does anybody know if this is true or was I just being sold an upgrade/additional year?

I had to extend my membership to avoid the charge when I added a resort earlier this year. It's worth it, imho, b/c you can search without depositing once they add it to your account.
