New to II... Marriott Phuket

I am wondering I am new member to II. I bought a timeshare at Marriott's Vacation Club, Phuket. I have a gold membership which is summer months. What will be my trading power? The resort is integrated with the J.W. Marriott Hotel. The timeshare is a 2 bedroom 2 bath. I would like to trade with other Marriott timeshares will this be difficult?

Marriott has a 24 day 'Preference Period.' This means that for the first 24 days that a Marriott is deposited into II, only other Marriott's have availability to it. That will help you trade into other Marriott's. During the 'flexchange period' ( last 59 days prior to check-in) that preference drops to 3 days.

You can request an exchange thru II, and then also check to see what's available on II, yourself. There are also II postings, each day on this site.

Anything that you see when looking, you can grab!!!!

II uses a 'Like to Like & Supply & Demand' system. So, the demand for your week will determine the exchange power that you have into other Marriott's.

I would think that Memorial Day Weekend might be a good week for you to try to book. It is a holiday, and also the first week of Gold Season. Also, July 4th...... Since September starts their 'rainy season' it's best to stick to June, July & August.

Maybe someone who owns at Phuket, or has more info, will chime in.
