II special?

Do they often offer 2 years for the price of 1 for US $84? We got this in the mail.

We only own one resort in II which is a Marriott that we do not intend to trade because it is an ocean front fixed unit which they may not give us in return.

The other day, I found a real good deal for Mexico for a 1 br unit for only $269, if I had booked on the Internet. Since I called, I paid $30 more. I have looked for deals like that again but the prices are a lot higher now.

Do any of you see some super deals that warrant keeping the membership going? If we had another II resort, I would renew it for sure but now I don't know.

What do you advise to do in my case?

Emmy, the only time that has ever been offered to me, was when I deposited a new resort. Afterward, I tried to get it, and they wouldn't give it to me. I have read that others have been given that offer, tho.

I haven't received any such offer lately, but maybe I will. I sure hope so.

PS....I'm not sure that I would keep the membership, if I never planned on making an exchange. They do have some good getaways, every now and then, but they are getting a little more expensive, too.

Emmy, if you think you will take 2 or more Getaways a year, then it pays to join II. If you're not sure, II allows members to book using someone else's credit card, but a Guest Certificate is required. So I (or anyone else) could do book a getaway for you. You can always shop on the non-member site for inventory, CondoDirect.com | Home, their prices are higher there, though, by about 15% or so, depending (I didn't do an exhaustive comparison). And you know you can always ask for a Sighting...

Angela, I wished I could pass the savings on to you and Avery, thank you for the offer. As long as we have our old cat, I am afraid that we cannot take advantage of the extra trips if we have to take at least two or more. It is too hard already the way it is now. I will take your offer and pay for a guest certificate, if we want to go on the spur of the moment. Thank you.

II runs membership specials from time to time. It never hurts to ask when one is ongoing. For some reason, I was never able to get one, but 2 other friends I told about it got the 2 fer deal.
