On-line request system sucks

Grrrrr...I hate their request system. I just got matched to a unit I don't want & didn't include in my request. I entered LWR because they are all 2 bedroom & have Sat & Sun check-in dates. That is what I need. I'm using a Sheraton 1 bedroom for the request. The system matched me to Villas on the Green 1 bedroom unit with a Friday check-in.

Now I have to call & cancel the match & set the whole damn thing up again. I had other requests listed as well and they were for DVC so I've lost my place in the que.

That stupid "default to Thursday check-in" feature is a real pain in the butt. You are forced to call to make specific date & resort ID requests.

You did not list Villas on the Green, as one of your request?

Yep! Only listed LWR not Villas. All the LWR are 2 bedroom non lock-offs in the original section of the development. Villas is the newer section with lock-off units. Since I'm using a 1 bedroom to request I can't ask for larger. But I can request at a resort that only has 2 bedroom units available to trade. I see LWR all year but May wasn't listed so I put in a request in case one showed up for the week I want. The dang system matched to the OTHER section of the development, the one with the 1 bedrooms. And a Friday check-in which doesn't work for me.

I should know better. I should have called in the first place to place this request with an actual person.

Oh, too bad!!

When you call, tell them that you don't want to loose your place in the que, due to this match. I think that you have a decent chance of being given back your original request date.

I was told by VG last week, when I canceled a reservation, that you don't loose your place in the que as long as the cancellation is with in 24 hours.

I really dislike that feature on the II on-line system. I don't use it very often because of those reasons, I like the RCI on-line system for reservation. I do like the search all resort feature of the II system, even thought they do miss some of the resorts that you can find if you do a map search. Wish SFX had a system that would take the best pieces of the II and RCI systems. I really don't like being able to search on line with SFX.

All fixed!

Okay, that was fairly painless. I was transfered to a Sheraton VC (a phone # I never used before but now have written down) & a very pleasant young man named Tony fixed me all up. I'm back in my original que spot for DVC & have a note that I will only accept LWR. I shoulda just called in the first place.

And I agree about SFX. Just think how great it would be if we could search inventory on-line there. I've got 3 deposits & 3 bonus weeks I would probably book in a nano-second if I could only see what they have available. My requests have just been sitting there for months & I have no idea if they even have a chance of coming through.
