How often are new listings posted?

Hello everyone,

Just curious how often "new" listings are posted? I have been looking at Angies postings everyday. So are the listings posted only once per day? When is the best time to look for new listings? I just became a full member of II yesterday and just trying to feel my way through. I just bought my TS last year, used it this year and have never exchanged. I bought 2 yrs of II and have been going through the availability. Thanks!

Mostly in the morning but people post during the day and night as well. Check in 3 times a day and you won't miss anything.

sorry, I guess I should clarify. When does II post their listings on their site? Is it also periodically throughout the day. Is it in real time? Or do they just list once per 24 hour period? Sorry for the confusion.

II doesn't really have a set time. Best to check periodically as things turn up as they become available.

If you mean you want to start a new thread, use the Forum Navigation bar to find the forum you want to post in, then click on New Thread in the left above the listed threads already there.

You won't be able to post Sightings (Exchange Opportunities) or see the Exchange Opportunities listings until you either have 15 posts or make a voluntary contribution to the site.

Based on my experience, and on what one would expect from a computer based system, my vote is for a real time system.

By real time, I mean the time that II verifies the validity and availability of a deposit, rather than the time the deposit is entered via phone or internet.

For a computer based system, it is easier to change a "flag" and cause a deposit to be listed, than it is to change a flag and make a list for posting at a later time, or to search the database for flagged resorts and list them at midnight or whenever.

Part of the "flag" changing procedure also has to be a scan of on-going requests to see if there is an existing request for that week. Weeks that are required for on-going requests, get a black flag so to speak with respect to showing up on-line.

So, with all this checking to be done, it means a new deposit can show up immediately if it has a "trusted" confirmation number from the resort or take several days if II has to manually contact the resort to confirm one's rights to that week.

All this is conjecture on my part, but it makes sense from a systems basis. Probably means that II won't have anything like it
