Myrtle Beach availability for summer?

Hello!
I just started an ongoing search for Myrtle Beach for this summer. About 2 pages worth of resorts showed up that I can trade into, so I'm not worried about trading power. I was surprised that not even 1 resort/hotel showed up for availability right now. Only surrounding areas showed up as available.

Has anyone traded into MB for summer time? and at what point of the year do you think based on your experience that they would start showing up?

I'm trading a 2 bedroom with kitchen july week orlando. I would even take a 1 bedroom, b/c the kiddies are little and they would sleep with us anyways.

I personally think your chances are nil. Orlando summer is not top drawer and MBSC is because of location/beach. If you don't see it now with people putting in their deposits as maintenance fees are due, you won't see it at all 'til you get to flexchange. Good luck - an ongoing search (deposit first) is the only way to even attempt it.

I traded into MB a few years ago with a Massanutten resort July week. It took me 14 months to land, but I got an okay resort across the street from the beach. It can be done, but probably not for this summer.

MB for the summer is tough. You should put in a request, but pick an alternative location, as well. You might consider something close to MB, so that if during the flexcahnge period something shows up, you'd be able to switch.

There are a couple of units at the Sheraton Broadway Plantation for early Sept. I know it is not summer but summer will be difficult to get as others have said.

I'd jump on Sheraton Broadway Plantation for September. It's not on the beach, but near a lot of activity. My DH is going there in March for an aging fraternity brother golf outing. Reviews on tripadvisor are solid for this resort and it looks like they have a nice pool with a lazy river.

thanks for the replys. I did see that resort for September. do you guys know how myrtle beach is in the middle of sept? still pool weather? I'll have 3 1/2 yr and 1 1/2yr kids at that time. still crowded? anyone know how far to the boardwalk from that resort? just wondering...

Weather in MB

Mid-September should still be nice and warm and the crowds diminished. I'll bet you really enjoy your time there. I believe National and Local Weather Forecast, Radar, Map and Report has annual temperature trends. Enjoy!

Shoulder Season is the only way to go

I would jump on it in a heartbeat. We would only travel during the shoulder season to SC when our children were preschoolers. Now that they are in school, we must stick to breaks and summer (except for a little taste of Vail / BC last year ).

We've stayed at the Sheraton Broadway before and would return if it wasn't for the fact that it is not on the beach. It was a fabulous resort with plenty of the amenities.

It will still be pool weather during the day and most evenings you might not even need a sweater. I'd take one just in case. They have an indoor pool too!!

The beach, no boardwalk perse in MB, is only a mile or two away. The activities that are referenced is the Broadway at the Beach!! Lots of things to do there.

Snag it before it gets away then decide within the next 24 hours whether to keep it...

wooohooo!! we are going. I got the 2bedroomm for 2nd week in Sept! We are sooo excited b/c this is our first "family of 4" vacation and first time using the timeshare. The resort looks great, and being 1 mile from the beach doesn't matter b/c of the little kiddies.

Now..whats your suggestion based on experience...do we need a car to get around? it would be a 2hr flight for us which is what we are thinking to do, but we are also thinking we might need a car to say go to the grocery store and get around to the amusements. Also thinking about driving, you know, the wait till the kids are asleep and drive at night.

Congradulations on your great trade!

You will want to have a car to get around to all the activities, restaurants and stores (Walmart - groceries, etc). MB is really spread out. We decided to drive down rather than fly.

In September, there should still be plenty of places open, such as Broadway on the beach, amusement parks and various entertainment. You will have a great time! Enjoy ....

Early Septamber is a fantastic time of year to go to Myrtle Beach. Water is warm, temperature is warm, crowds have dispersed, everything is still open. Just check to see when the fall bike week going to happen.

MB is a hard trade for the summer months. High time for beach activities and golf. Also, the Shearton Broadway Plantation is the center resort for all the action in MB.

Myrtle Beach

Week 34 is available periodically in MyrtleBeach. If you do online exchanges throughout the day you may find a glitch This may occur about 18 months to 12 months in advance with RCI.

I snagged Myrtle Beach with Interval International over a year in advance at the Shorecrest week 34 a one bedroom years ago I paid an upgrade fee SSSHHHH and landed a two bedroom unit

Sheraton Broadway Plantation

My DH just got back from his golf trip and stayed at the Sheraton Broadway...said it was very nice. Hope you enjoy your trip!
