  • II AC question

I have an II AC. When I look for availability for 60 days out I see certain resorts. Then I check 60 days out with another resort I have banked and see some different stuff. Isnt the AC supposed to give you everything available at the 60 days mark. If so, whyI I seeing different resorts?

I believe that each AC has some resorts blocked for exchange- particularly back into the resort the AC was given for. There also can be differences in trade power/quality of the ACs, making for different sightings. The AC reflects the characteristics of the resort it was given for.

We recently deposited a week with II that had a note that it qualified for an AC when we deposit the week....but we don't have anything in our account that says we got the AC....how do you get one?

        Katiemack,

If you call them, I think they will give it to you. They can tell if the week you deposited qualifies by the date of the week, etc. As long as it qualifies, I don't think you will have a problem.

We are new to II, and didn't understand the system.

I called them, she tells me: "no, you don't qualify, actually we wanted the week before the one you desposited".

I ask:"why did it say it qualified for an AC on the notes on my account?"

She says, "it doesn't"....then I tell her why doesn't it, it is a prime Spring Break ski week"...

She: "if you had taken advantage of the offer we sent you, then maybe it would have qualified"....

            I say, "what offer",

she says: "the AC bonus offer"

            ...."so then I DO qualify?"

round and round we go...she is adamant, I don't deserve the AC... I finally give up, hang up and scratch my head.

Digging through some mail I had saved, there it is, the AC offer with a tracking number.

            I call back:

            Jessie answers this time,

he is very apologetic and gives us the AC.

HMMMMM....is this typical of how II works?

I am not really sure, I haven't been dealing with them that long. However. I haven't had a problem with them so far. I have two timeshares listed with them, each received an AC when they were deposited.

Because I have Marriotts, when I call, I get connected to the Marriott desk. I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

I have asked Marriott what qualifies for a AC, and I was told that if they need the week, they will offer one to you. Usually, weeks during peak seasons will qualify.

II is so odd. All of my resorts (Club Intrawest, Riviera Shores & Mountainside Lodge) always qualify for an AC. This is even when I don't give them a super high demand week of the year. I'm so surprised that you guys are having to fight to get your ACs.

It all goes back to the problem we had discussed in another thread about II having novice employees that are screwing up. By looking things up and calling back whenever something doesn't sound right, you usually will get what you are supposed to. This is perhaps the major annoyance with II and I've had two such problems in the last few years plus I ran into a bad attitude once. II needs to get their people on the stick.

Which resorts of the three are not in prime season

Dear bill- Of the three resorts you listed that you always get AC's can you be more specific as to each of there weeks and also are the AC's good enough to let you take a comparable vacation for one week just on the AC?

                    I am new to this

I always ask before I deposit a week with II. If they don't give an AC, then I have to determine if I am going to go ahead and deposit without an AC or wait to later. Hopefully leter they will give an AC.

I was told they have a grid that they set ahead of time that says if a AC will be given. So once the grid is set it will not be changed.

I have never traded Club Intrawest with II as we always use all our points. For CI stays and Hotel stays and now for HGVC stays.

Re the other resorts Mountainside lodge and Riviera Shores. Any time I do a test deposit of my weeks (I go thru the steps to deposit a week online, but don't complete the deposit) I alway get a notice from II saying that if I complete the deposit I'll get an AC. I recently did a test deposit with a ski week at whistler. If I put in a week which was just over 60 days from checkin I was offered an AC and if I put in a week which is less than 60 days , I get the normal "this deposit will only get you a Late deposit week". So even when I do an almost late deposit I still get an AC.

These AC see a lot of mid and low demand resort areas which include orlando, williamsburg, atlantic City, and the other grid areas which are on most AC. Do I find that these AC get me into truely high demand areas within 60 days? NO, but it is a nice bonus for making a deposit which I'd likely make anyway.

                          Hope that helps

AC is Accomodation Certificate. You get one when you deposit a high demand week into II. Then for a fee between $199 and $399 dollars, you can use the AC to get a trade into a mid to low demand location. II also greatly expand the TS available with an AC, 60 days before check in.

                              Hope that helps
