Hello All - me again - all your messages are getting me thinking......

My DVC request is for a two week period in mid November. I told them any one bedroom would be fine.

But we have already done Old Key West, Sarratoga and Boardwalk. Would love to try Beach Club this time around.

Do you think it would be better for me to drop the "any DVC" to just Beach Club, Wilderness and say Boardwalk? Are there decent chances that would pop up anyway?

If it's a 1BR I would hold out a bit, then add the rest. I am not a gambler though! It doesn't seem like that would be a super busy DVC season.

November is Food & Wine Festival at Epcot, so I think the most difficult ones to get then would be the ones in walking distance to Epcot, like Boardwalk and Beach Club. But you never know what will pop up!

I think that Beach Club has fewer units than some of the other DVC resorts. Boardwalk, Old Key West, and Saratoga Springs have more units. Good luck with your vacation plans!!

I have been in the same situation. I would go ahead and try for everything but SSR and OKW if that is what makes you happy. But I would not wait to long. I did that this year and was not able to get anything for our dates in June.

I just thought I would share. I put in an ongoing request for a 2 bedroom in late January/February. I changed it to a 1 bedroom in late February for all DVC resorts. Then I changed it to a studio in March and I still was unable to land a DVC resort. I think with DVC you take what can accomodate your family and be happy to get it.

I have happily exchanged into DVC many times and learned the hard way I will not be so picky in the future.

November is Food & Wine Festival at Epcot, so I think the most difficult ones to get then would be the ones in walking distance to Epcot, like Boardwalk and Beach Club. But you never know what will pop up!

is that the whole month?

and I saw the Boardwalk available the first week of November last Friday. It was a studio though

Food and wine ends in early November this year. I have request in - but have also been watching the leftovers every morning. So far.....just about every week is out there for Sept and Dec - but only a couple studios popping up during November. Saratogo and Old Key West have the most showings.....some mornings I am pulling up over 10 units at each. I think I am going to leave my original request alone....as the other poster pointed out....sometimes it backfires to be too particular. SSR and OKW are still lovely resorts.

Thanks Robin - that is the exact week that I have a request in for. Isn't that just crazy. I checked this morning at 6:45 EST and then again around 7:30 and Saratoga had about 10 weeks out there - but not that one. AND, I just checked online and the unit is still pending request - so I didn't get it. I wonder how come: 1. it didn't show up when I check and also why it went into the leftover catagory anyway. I checked my request and all is correct. Also, where can I find this sightings board you mentioned? Thanks

Because you don't have Saratoga in your request so why would it match???

And at the time u were checking for DVC resorts, someone else might have had the week on an 18 minute hold and then released it.

Did u update your request to include Saratoga?

Seems to be over by Nov 9, but sure does look interesting. Got me thinking.

The 13th Annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will take place on

September 26 - November 9, 2008

The theme for 2008 is "Cities in Wonderland" and will feature cuisine from "foodie" cities such as Cork, Ireland; Shanghai, China; Cape Town, South Africa' Bologna, Italy; Mexico City, Tokyo and Marrakesh, Morrocco.

The Eat to the Beat Concerts will feature new acts including En Vogue, Spyro Gyra, David Sanborn and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Among the perennial favorites returning for the event are Jon Secada, , Kool & The Gang and Otis Day & the Knights.

Yes.. The dates are there this am again. 1 bedroom at SSR.

The original request by the orignal poster included all 5 DVC resorts. The orginal question was should she change it to only inclue the Beach Club or even maybe Boardwalk and Wilderness Lodoge. Her decision was to keep her orginal reqest intact and it does include all 5 DVC resorts. I am not sure why it did not match.


The sighting can be seen at the Interval Internation Exchange opportunities her on this board. The threads will no longer show private after you yourself have 30 post. The following day it will reset and you will be able to view these exchange opportunities and it will no longer say "private".

Hi GrayFal - there is some confusion I guess with my post - Saratoga has always been out there as a unit I would except. This morning - I searched from July to Dec. Saratoga had about 8 units available - but not for the week I want - but I am reading that others can see it.

Just when I thought I had the hang of this!!!!

My unit pulls DVC - when I search for it - there are plenty of weeks for me to exchange to (heck even Christmas week showed up yesterday!) But....it won't pull the week before Thanksgiving - while it can for others.

Sorry to be thick headed - but I get the idea of trading power - just can't see how my unit can pull up Xmas week but not the week prior to Thanksgiving.
