  • Do you know a good ii VC? Cancellation question

Does anyone have a good VC at interval that they use? If you do & could pm me I would appreciate it.

If I cancel and exchange that is less thatn 50 days out, what are my options for retrade? If I retrade it when I cancel am I still limited to the 59 days?

I had read an old thread oy that made me believe that you had a little more latitude if you cancel and retraded at the same time.

If no one can give you a direct line---this is one of those times when calling to "ask a question" might be worth while. If you like the answer you get, great! If you don't, try again later.

I did call and ask and definitely did not like the answer

The VC said I would lose the week altogether unless I had purchased insurance.

I know they will worst case give me a replacement week that is good for 1 year but I can only trade in the flex change. What I had read oy led me to believe that if you retraded into something currently available at the time of cancellation, you were not restricted to the 59 day window.

If you cancel an exchange within the flexchange period, then you are only entitled to a flexchange replacement week. You will need to do your own searches, since you can not put in a request with this type of week.

If your week is insured by II, then they will replace your week, with it's original trading power, and you're not restricted to the flexchange period, or any other penalties.

If you are already in the flexchange period when you cancel, then retreading immediately, or at a later time really gives you no advantage one way, or the other. The only thing that would make a difference, is what's available, at either time.

On a related note, if there's another property in the same location that has become available is it possible to trade? For example, confirmed at a Marriott then Four Seasons opens up for same week/same bedrooms?

If you cancel a replacement week, that is one which had previously been cancelled, you lose everything...you get no week, no money, nada. With II you can only make one cancellation per week.

Let me rephrase...I re-read my post and noticed I was unclear.

I have a confirmed week at Marriott in Phoenix. If the SAME week becomes available at another property (ie. Westin Kierland or Four Seasons Scottsdale), is it possible to switch??

                  Thanks!!
