Booking 4 months out?

I recently purchased a re-sale 2bdrm Cabo timeshare. With the purchase, the owner gave me a week she had deposited with II that expires at the end of July this year. How likely is it that I can use it? I am in CA and would prefer a beach setting in California, Palm Springs or my 3rd choice would be Mexico. I don't have the deed for the property yet so can't access the II database, yet. Any recommendations as to what might be available? Thanks.

I'm not famiiar with West Coast availability but we take a lot of trips booked with an II AC within 60 days of check-in. As long as you are not terribly fussy, something decent should be available. If you make 13 more posts you will be able to see our II sightings forum.

We can be flexible but we have 2 small children so I was thinking a shorter flight or drive would be best. Can you give me examples of what you were able to get 60 days out? Thanks!

You can access the II resort directory online without being a member. Cancellations within 60 days are possible almost anywhere. Palm Springs in summer shouldn't be too hard, there is decent availability and it is not prime season. I can see plenty of availability May through July right now. Here is the cream of the crop, maybe you can get the seller to reserve one for you. Hopefully your resort has the trading power to pull these:

You're welcome. Just beware that these won't last long, and inventory is constantly changing. Those Westin weeks appear to be part of a bulk spacebanking (possibly including developer weeks) that will dwindle, probably pretty fast.

This is so true. When we were at the Marriott sales office at the hotel in Palm Desert, she showed us II Hawaii and Marriott HI timeshares that were available at that moment and that kept changing too when we looked again a second time a couple minutes later. She was trying to show us how to do this without depositing the week first.

This is our biggest gripe with RCI too..
