Limited checkin day request

I have an ongoing request in II for Hilton Head for a specific single checkin day (the Friday only of an August week 2009). I am concerned that II may not be automatically searching for a match because of this limitation; maybe a live person needs to manually search? If this is the case, I might be better off requesting the entire weekend and calling in to cancel any exchanges offered for Sat or Sun checkin. Opinions?

I have had searches where I could only take a particular day because of other exchanges....and it was never a problem to get them. As long as u specified you could only take the one date ahead of time ....they still might call and offer u the Saturday or Sunday but you can say no.

I had one a couple of months ago for a specific date (had to call II rep to set it up) and didn't have a problem. We were looking for an additional unit in Cancun at a certain resort on a certain date and were lucky, it matched in about a month.

Did you have an II VC set up your request? If not, it can hold a close date )Thursday before to Sunday afterwards) and if you don't see it within the 24 hours, then you are stuck with it.

Yes, an II VC set it up. I have since called back and other VCs assure me that the search is set up properly.
