  • Flexchange ??

We recently purchased a timeshare and due to delayed closing were not able to deposit our week until 21 days prior to check-in. We had to expedite our II membership to even get it deposited.

I understood that because of the late deposit, we could only make exchanges within the flexchange window (59 days or less). However, if I request exchanges beyond the 60 day window in the website (I put in dates for late summer/early fall) it pulls up a lot resorts and prompts me to hit the button for exchange.

My question is - if I put in the exchange/date request beyond my flexchange window and hit exchange, will II reject it? Will I get the error message on the next screen that says "nice try, but you can only book travel w/in xxx dates"?

I don't think you'll have a problem. If the web site shows you avalablity beyond the 59 day window, I think it is avalable to you.

Try it! What could it hurt.

I am tempted to just try it to see how far I'd get, but first I've got to figure out if I can actually travel if it lets me do the exchange.

I agree that if it shows availability, give it a shot, but make sure you can travel before making a reservation. Also, make sure you are using the late deposit week and not next year's week

II should allow you to cancel within 24 hours if it turns out you take something you can't use.
