  • Ice Rewards

I just bought a TS in Las Vegas at Wesgate Towers. I am now offered to join Ice Rewards for $2,000 for a lifetime membership or $250 a year. Not sure if this is a good deal or not. Are you aware of this company? I don't much info on this site, just joined today so I might not have seen it.

    Denis,
If you truly just bought, I suggest you exercise your rescission rights immediately. You really don't want what you bought and you really don't want ICE Rewards.

If you do a search on Westgate and Ice on google, this site and other time sharing websites you will find that Westgate has one of the worst reputations for screwing and abusing thier customers.

Westgate has a lot of unhappy owners.

If you want just Las Vegas there are IMHO far better resale buys for over all value in Las Vegas at 50% to 90% less than you paid.

Ice is bad bargin IF IT IS the same type of Ice program that RCI has had for years. You can do as good or better on just

If you are past your recission timeframe, you have my deepest condolances.

Westgate is charging you for ICE? I've always had it offered for free. Trust me when I say that ICE is an absolutely worthless benefit. We've cruised 7 times and have 2 more cruises booked. ICE has always been so far off the mark as far as cost effectiveness for a cruise that I quit checking with them several years ago.

Personally, I can't believe that Westgate would want you to actually pay for a membership to ICE when most other developers through it in for free. I agree with the others, if you can rescind your purchase then do so now. If not, at least you have a great location in Vegas in what should be one of the premier timeshare resorts. It's just that they're asking far to much money and it's Westgate. Westgate is not know for being owner friendly.

I have owned with Westgate for a few years now. I was given Ice Rewards for 2 years for free. Then last fall, I was called and told from Ice that it was mandatory to buy a membership. I paid 5 payments of $99 each, then Jan 3/11 they called again and said that I should have been offered a lifetime membership for $1498. So, I gave them the first installment of $248, and today I decided to call Westgate and inquire. They said it is NOT mandatory, so now am in the process of trying to get my money back. Hope it goes well, or will call my credit card company and cancel payments.

I also own Westgate LV. I have had to deal with ice rewards as well. Them telling me that it was mandatory to buy a membership. Check my posting at the bottom of the page, this will tell you my dilemma.
