Pros: You get a $25 discount on any II "get-a-ways" you buy. So If you do 3-4 II "get-a-ways" a year, the extra gold II membership is worth it.

Cons If you don't do II "get-a-ways", IMHO, it is a complete waste of money.

In the past, they've also included Hertz #1 Gold membership for free. If you use Hertz, that pretty much covers the additional cost of the membership. Since Hertz is almost always one of the most expensive rates I look at, it's of no use to me.

Essentially, for us Gold membership is a waste of money.

We book usually around 10 Getways a year for us and family, so Gold is worth it to us.

I agree with Doug. The Hertz Gold was nice a few years ago. However, my last car rental through Sam's Club was much cheaper than the Hertz price.

If you plan to use Getaways at least two or more, then I would say it is worth it. The cost for gold is just a little bit more than you save on two getaways. We haven't used any of the other gold benefits.

We have Gold Membership until 2010 and will not renew it. I agree that unless you use getaways few times a year it is not worth it. We have never used it,have enough trouble going on our week each year now.

As far as Hertz even with discount they are the highest charging car rental. We booked using II for Maui last year and even they said Hertz contract with II was good years ago but not now.

She booked us on another company saving over $100 for car . I was told they could book a larger car than we would get with Hertz and the discount.

As far as the coupons you can use we found most are of business we don't use anyway . Bought couple pizza's and also been turned down because employee's had no idea what these coupons or II was about.

The coupons really have noting to do with II except that Entertainment Publications and II are owned by the same parent company. The coupons are really Entertainment Book coupons. The employees may know what you are talking about if you mention an Entertainment coupon but understandably know noting about it if you mention II.
