  • Took a 2 bed. SSr for Sept. 20 ...

I put in a request last night for any 2 bedroom DVC for the dates of Sept. 20 - December 2010. This afternoon a match was made for SSR for Sept. 20-27th. I would have like to have gone later in the fall... but I am afraid that will not happen with the impending switch coming very soon.

I also know a lot of September dates usually come up and I would have liked to have stayed at Boardwalk, Beach Club or Wilderness... but again I am afraid to wait this one out.

    Any thoughts on this one..

I thought about rejecting this one and going for a 1 bedroom instead for the other 3 resorts... but not sure how this would turn out at this late date.

My first thought is to just say keep it and have a great time!

That is probably the 2BR SSR I released last night! I say keep it as well because the II Rep told me they are barely getting any DVC deposits. I have also had a 1BR request in for Sept starting 9/25 or later, but nothing has matched, so I'd say keep the 2BR!

Hi dvcforus... Was yours for OKW or SSR?

I talked to DH and I think we will keep it. We are staying at Boardwalk in May in a 1 bedroom so at least I will get my Boarwalk fix next year.

Keep it. I was on the look-out, as was Angela, for an end of September week for this year and only 2 ever came up for the specific date needed. Both OKW. One a studio and the other a 1BDRM which I grabbed.

You'll be at Disney in a 2BDRM how bad can it be?

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Ok you have convinced me We will keep it! Even though we own points for DVC... I am happy to trade in one last time.

Any clues on how long the RCI contract is with DVC?

We have a confirmed OKW for Sept. 19-26 in 2BR. Then they called and with another request offered me SSR for Sept. 20-27 2BR so we initially took it thinking we'd bring family but no one could go so we gave it up. I'm glad you got it!

ouch.. 10 years .. I guess once we see how the RCI points work with DVC.. I might have to buy something that trades into DVC.

I am glad I got your given up unit. You posted your dates and I made that my start date and it worked.

Have you been in Sept. before. We have been around Labor day but not this late in September. How are the crowds and weather?

We absolutely love Sept. Although it's not as slow as it used to be now that Disney offers free dining, it's still great. We love the weather (hurricane risk has only bit us once and it was bad in 1999...). Sometimes it's very hot and humid, but we love Typhooln Lagoon so want it warm with our kids who want to swim each day too. If you need any dining ressies make sure you make them early because the free dining folks will fill them quickly.

You really need to be ASAP when your dining window opens. Those free dining people are known to double-triple book ADR's. They have whole threads on the DIS(I think it's the FD people tend to post on the Code board), gloating how they have multiple dinner ADR's because they don't know where they will be and want to have their bases covered.

That's a bunch that really works the ADR system.

Thanks for the heads up on the dining ressie issue. We are thinking of going with the quick service plan this time around. I think it would make our vacation so much more relaxing. I am always stressed over making the adr's etc. We wanted to try the new plan and see if we can just wing it more in the parks.

I'd skip the QS plan. Even if you maximize it, you'll only be saving a few dollars here and there. I'd just buy what I wanted, when I wanted it, and expect that to be not much more, and probably less.
