I spoke with another guide and gave her the sequence of events. She put me on hold (actually came back off hold to say she was still looking into it - as opposed to just letting it go on and on) and then solved the problem. She said there was no documentation on my account other than my conversation from 2 days ago with the other guide from customer services.
So, I got my original week back (and not a replacement week), return of my original exchange fee and then used my AC and charged me the AC fee. So I completed the customer survey after the phone call and gave my guide positive marks for solving what should have been solved 3 days ago.Denise

Actually, that is the way things also normally go at RCI, based on my 20 years/10 bajillion searches/100-plus exchanges, etc., that someone says something can't be done or screws it up, and then when you follow it up with Customer Service, it gets fixed, that person saying it was simple and they don't know why it wasn't taken care of in the first place.
It's a shame the first has to happen, but nice that the second does.

I recently rejected an ongoing search that was a match. I had 24hours to do it. I don't know what is meant by some people when they say "exact" match and "cancellation". A request for a specific resort may result in an "exact" match that results in an automatic acceptance. I was not looking for a specific resort. My search was for a specific time period in a specific area. I was told I could reject any match and they did allow me to reject this match within 24 hours. I think there may be a difference between cancellation and rejection. I think once I accept a resort I would have to cancel that reservation if I no longer wanted it. At that point, cancellation rules would apply. If I have not yet accepted the match I have the right to reject it within 24 hours. The above all seems logical to me and in accordance with what happened with my match from an ongoing search. I cannot say with certainty that my suggested meaning of the terms "exact match" and "cancellation" is in accord with how II uses the terms.
