  • II and 24 hour cancellation

I know that you can cancel an exchange within 24 hours of booking. However, I thought that you actually had until their offices closed the next business day. Either I was wrong or they are now holding to a literal 24 hours.

I had booked an exchange on line yesterday at 11:30 AM. I called tonight at 7:30 pm to cancel and was told that I would lose part of my exchange fee because it was after 24 hours. After being put on hold then disconnected twice I finally got a guide on the third try to give me my full exchange fee back. He said that he was doing this despite all the notes in my file. I don't really know what he meant by that but I wasn't going to ask. Nor was I about to ask for clarification on the 24 hour rule. Once I got what I wanted, I was done.

So was my memory wrong or has it always been a literal 24 hours?

You are confusing Apples with Oranges, RCI with II.

RCI allows you to put a unit on hold or cancel an exchange until close of business the next day.

II is actually 24 hours - so 11:30 am today until 11:29 am tomorrow.

You are fortunate to get your money back and more importantly - your week without any limitations.
If u have to cancel an exchange after the 24 hour period - your replacement week is only good for 12 months.

Thanks Pat. I guess the mind is not as good as it used to be!

I have recieved calls from II reps, offering exchanges during morning hours, offering to book it for me, telling me I can make my final decision and call back before closing hours the following day if I want to cancel.

Looks like we have some contradicting information!
