  • Timing on Exchange Into II

I'm in the process of purchasing a 2 bd/2 ba 1-52 Wk Ocean View TR at Point at Poipu on the secondary market. It is an odd year TS, so can use in 2011. What I'm trying to determine is the timing which works best for exchanges into II. I've read many of the posts and haven't found discussions covering this topic. Again, I'm a beginner so not sure when you can exchange to II and whether you should reserve a specific date with Diamond International prior to exchanging or leave it open for other to select their preference 1-52. Am I on the right track. Advise is what I am in need of.

If you're buying an EOY Hawaiian TS, my advice is to use it and not exchange at all.

If you want to exchange a TS, buying a Hawaiian TS generally isn't the best choice. The MFs are too high. Buy a yearly TS with lower MFs and maybe a lock-off. The lock off feature lets you own one week in a 2 bd but lock off the second bd so you can deposit both the 1 bd side & the studio side, so you get 2 exchanges for the price of one.

Bill - How would a 2 bd TS be listed on the resale market if it had a studio lock-off option?
