  • Points Conversion - Need advice

I own two weeks at a timeshare that has converted to points. For $2000, I can convert both weeks to points. I will get 72,000 points per year for both weeks.

Is this a good price or not? Will I have a better chance to sell these units someday if there are points vs weeks?

The RCI weeks system is doing nothing for me right now - use to get good trades with these weeks but not lately.

    Need some advice. Thank you.

First, make sure you feel comfortable that rci points will provide you with the opportunities you need. I'm very conservative by nature, so my first reaction is to remind you that the grass is not always greener on the other side!

For what it's worth, $2k seems like a reasonable upgrade fee from a developer if you are enrolling both weeks. Many resorts charge between $3900 to $7900 for what basically amounts to faxing an enrollment form. If there is an active resale market for your weeks- you might consider selling and then purchasing an existing rci points contract.. By doing so, you might come out ahead and spend less money- but if the savings isn't significant- I wouldn't recommend that route..
