  • RCI not verifying deposits

Two weeks ago I deposited my Dec. 2010 weeks with RCI. They still show "pending verification" so today I called RCI to find out what the problem was. I found out that "because of the holidays" RCI has not even contacted the resort yet to confirm my weeks.

I was wondering why the number of available units in the system has not increased much. This is the time when many people are depositing their weeks because they have to pay their maintenance fees. Maybe they don't want any of the good stuff that people usually deposit at the end of the year to hit the system until the exchange fee goes up in January.

    Still pending

My weeks are still pending so I called RCI again. Apparently there is a bug in their system (surprised?) and when I deposited the weeks (all 3 of them) online it did not go all the way through to the next step. So the request to the resort to actually verify the weeks never went happened. I was told by a web expert that they have now manually sent it on to the person who does the verification, but if your week is still pending after an inordinate amount of time, give RCI a call and demand an answer.

I've never had any luck with RCI verifying deposits. I've resorted (no pun intended) to having the resorts do it from their end, much more efficient. For South Africa I used to get it done through RCI South Africa - an office that seems far more efficient than those here in the US!!

I just received a letter from RCI saying that my beachweek at MB has not been verified and to please call my resort. I deposited it over a month ago!! Reading this thread I have no doubt it's RCI"s screwup. It WILL be fixed tomorrow. shaggy

You got to see the screw up they did on my st croix week, I so far have lost 2 months for the delay and we still are not done yet. I think the last person got it right but we have to wait another 2 weeks to find out.

The last deposit I made with RCI on a Mexico Resort Solmar was verified within 48 hours. It may have even been 24.
This was just a couple of months ago.

How do you do this? Do you deposit the week and then call the resort and tell them to call RCI?

You pay your maintenance fees and then ask the resort to deposit your week with RCI. I have done this in the past and it works great. But this time, when I asked the Wyndham agent to do that, he said to just wait 24 hours and then deposit with RCI. That was a month ago...still waiting.

I do what BG said - call the resort, pay my MFs and ask them to deposit the week. Some resorts may not have this ability, but many do.
