  • Moving a Deposit to Another Acct. - Lose Power?

I have a deposit in my RCI account with my husband. I also have one with my step-brother. I manage both.

I want to move a week from one to the other. Will the move be considered a new depsoit and trade power calculated on the move date? The week has been on deposit for a long time and has very good power - I don't want to lose it!

Anyone have first hand expereince with this?

I have done that, but it was some time ago. The trade power stayed the same, but RCI charges you a fee to move the deposit. It used to be the cost of a guest certificate, but it has been a long time ago.

Might be easier (and cheaper) just to use a guest cert.

I can't use a GC - it involves a restricted exchange resort I know about the transfer fee - it was the trade power I don't know aobut.

I guess I'll call RCI and see what they say. Ugh.

The week "should" retain trade power. In all honesty I have only transferred a week once. It took forever to get done and I think the trade power dropped a bit. It was $79 back then. Maybe 4 years ago?

I transferred two weeks in the course of a sale this year. There was no trade power loss. My buyer would have noticed. She was knowledgable about RCI and had other top traders to compare to. The fee is still $79.

Great! Thanks for sharing your recent experience. Of course with the craziness of 5/30 things may have changed but at least I feel I have a chance at having the week retain it's trade power. I'll report back when (if) the transfer happens and the result so others will know what to expect.
