A few resorts I normally search for have changed ratings. Might want to check those that interest you, for grins.

My resort, the Desert Club at Summer Bay, was supposed to have achieved a gold crown rating by now, but it is still standard. The club house is not finished yet, but the reviews on RCI have been good. When they began construction, they got a letter from RCI stating they would be granted gold crown status upon completion. I guess we will have to wait another year.Jacki

Based on the resort features, layout, units, finishes, etc I seriously doubt that the guest rankings will give this resort a Gold Crown. They now meet the minimum features required but, compared to purpose built resorts like the Grand Desert, Polo Towers, Marrott, Hitons, etc this one doesn't reach the top. It is very nice, a quantum improvement over the old resort and a very good job of converting an apartment complex to a resort BUT it lacks the feeling of a purpose built timeshare. Unlike II which seems to hand out top ranking to any developer, not resort, they like to woo RCI rankings actually come from guests. Since they tend to report perceived problems more than accolades it is very tough to earn Gold Crown for any older resort.
There is nothing wrong with being a high quality unranked resort or maybe a still very high, but not quite top of the tops Silver Crown. It is asking a bit too much IMO to say that the conversion done at this facility reaches Gold Crown level. If they do base the ranking on guest rankings I think Silver will be the best you'll see.
