  • DVC resorts hierarchy?

Over the last couple weeks I've started looking for an exchange into a DVC resort. After looking over the Exchange Opportunities and doing manual searches it appears that I can see 1BR units at Saratoga Springs. I've never seen any 2BR units, which I can understand since my deposit is a 1BR.

But what I don't understand is that I can't see the 1BR units at Old Key West during the same timeframe? In the Exchange Opportunities for yesterday (1/20/2010) there were a number of Old Key West 1BR units.

My question(s) are: has anyone seen similar behavior? Does an exchange into Old Key West take more trading power than Saratoga Springs? Is there a hierarchy among the DVC resorts as it pertians to trading power?

As a note: I'm looking at early Sept 2010 weeks which in the Exchange Opportunites shows multiple 1BR units available for both Saratoga Springs and Old Key West.

    Thanks,

    jb

I have seen differences between resorts, and they are not always intuitive. From others' reports, SSR is indeed slightly easier to pull than the others.

SSR is the biggest DVC so it might be a case of supply and demand.

More units available for RCI. That's also true for DVC owners too.

I know that I can always get a room at SSR with my DVC points even at last minute.

That doesn't diminish the resort any though.
It's a beautiful resort and is getting better everyday.
Now they are redoing the pool along with the treeehouses,
I'm glad I own at SSR now.

Once the SSR owners were teased but now we are finally earning respect.
